SAFER will train five industrial PhD students in pharmacology, chemistry, crystallography, computational drug design and scientific database development. The first 1,5 years (1 year for chemist) will be jointly conducted at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), where all will obtain their PhD degree. Subsequently, two and three PhD students will move to SARomics and Enamine, respectively. Each PhD student project has an external Scientific Advisor. SAFER is coordinated by Jesper Kristensen and managed by Fredrik Björkling (both at UCPH).

In addition to the above academic and industrial main supervisors, SAFER involves a large group of co-supervisors with specific expertise in:
– Chemistry: Dr. Dmytro Radchenko (Enamine), Assoc. Prof. Rasmus P. Clausen (UCPH) and Prof. Fredrik Björkling (UCPH)
– Crystallography: Dr. Derek Logan (SARomics), Dr. Maria Håkansson (SAR) and postdoc Louise F. Nikolajsen (UCPH)
– Computational drug design: Senior scientist Kasper Harpsøe (UCPH)
– Database development: PhD stud. Christian Munk (UCPH)
